Triage beta feedback without drowning
External beta users send signal. Without buckets you treat every suggestion as a defect and ship nothing.
One action this week: Create 4 labels in your issue tracker: must-fix-before-ship, ship-with-known-issue, nice-to-have, noise.
Buckets
- must-fix-before-ship (crash / blocking)
- ship-with-known-issue (minor, documented in What’s New)
- nice-to-have (track separately, not release-blocking)
- noise (thank, then archive)
Failure modes
- Changing scope for every feature request
- Ignoring a crash because it only happened once
- No one owns the decision to ship-with-known-issue
Bottom line
Triaging feedback is a product decision, not a popularity contest.
