A release-candidate test matrix that fits a solo founder
You will not run a QA department matrix. You can still write a one-page RC matrix that catches the bugs that burn support.
One action this week: List 5 critical paths × 2 account states × 1 oldest-supported device. Run that on the archive build before external TF.
Minimum matrix
- Fresh install + returning user
- Logged out / logged in / expired session
- Purchase / restore (if monetized)
- Offline → online recovery once
- Oldest OS you still claim to support
Failure modes
- Only testing the happy path on your daily driver
- Skipping restore purchases until review week
- No written expected result per cell
