App Ops Desk · Issue #44

Screenshot ops that survive App Review re-submission

Screenshots are metadata until Review flags them. Then they become the reason your build is delayed.

Read time: 5 min Store Design Pairs with Issues #13 and #29
One action this week: Move all current App Store screenshots to a single folder named by version and build number. Document the generation command.

Hard rules

  • Only real device sizes claimed in app metadata
  • No false claims or competitor names visible
  • Store UI matches current version features
  • Generation command/script documented in repo

Failure modes

  • Screenshots from a beta UI that never shipped
  • Wrong device frame or unreadable text
  • No way to regenerate in a hurry

Bottom line

If you can’t regenerate screenshots in an hour, they will slow down every hotfix.
