App Ops Desk · Issue #44
Screenshot ops that survive App Review re-submission
Screenshots are metadata until Review flags them. Then they become the reason your build is delayed.
One action this week: Move all current App Store screenshots to a single folder named by version and build number. Document the generation command.
Hard rules
- Only real device sizes claimed in app metadata
- No false claims or competitor names visible
- Store UI matches current version features
- Generation command/script documented in repo
Failure modes
- Screenshots from a beta UI that never shipped
- Wrong device frame or unreadable text
- No way to regenerate in a hurry
Bottom line
If you can’t regenerate screenshots in an hour, they will slow down every hotfix.
