App Ops Desk · Issue #24
Push notification release checks
Notifications feel “done” when a debug device pings. Production is different: environments, permission timing, and payload shapes fail after you have already celebrated.
One action this week: Send one production-environment test to a device that installed the archive build — not just a debug run.
Pre-ship push gate
- Push capability intentional and explained in review notes if new
- Permission prompt has a clear pre-prompt reason in-app
- Prod vs sandbox/provider keys correct for this build
- Deep link / tap action opens the right screen
- Quiet hours / notification settings still accessible
Failure modes
- Debug-only device token path
- Prompting on first launch with no context
- Payload opens a removed route after a redesign
- Push enabled in capabilities with no product story
Bottom line
One real archive-build push in the production path. Everything else is theater.
