App Ops Desk · Issue #41

A release retrospective template that fits in one page

Retrospectives fail when they become blame theater or wall-of-text therapy. A one-page template keeps them short and usable.

Read time: 5 min Process Retro Pairs with Issues #34 and #40
One action this week: After your next release, spend 15 minutes filling the retro template before you start the next feature.

Rules

  • No “who” without “what rule changes”
  • Only one rule change per retro
  • If the rule was already written, why was it ignored?

Bottom line

A retro without a rule change is just complaining with a whiteboard.
